In June 2008 The Performance Corporation invited lighting designer Ciaran Bagnall, photographer Dominic Turner, writer Tom Swift and actor Louis Lovett out to Castletown House for a week of developing their new project Time Stands Still. Currently in development for 2009 it is an audio-visual/theatrical experience based on the life and work of professor Eadweard Muybridge, the first man to accurately halt time in a photgraphic image. Muybridge was, depending on what your views are, a genius or a man who got away with murder. This short film aims to give a flavour of what The Performance Corporartion plan do do with this piece. Using original images from Muybridge's own work, video and still images taken at Castletown House, and verbatim statements concerning the great man himself, we present a taste of the experiments that were performed and the performances experimented with during this devlopment time.
